12g NanoReef

Originally from ticket #1321.

Hi, Can you recommend a stunner strip setup to compliment (or replace) the current CF lighting in my nano tank? Right now it is a fish only w/ LR, but I would like something that will support all types of corals and clams. The current lights are 460 24w and a 12k 24w. Thanks

Dear Ctizanojr,

Thank you so much for contacting Ecoxotic and showing interest in our LED products.

We don't recommend using any of our LED products to "compliment" fluorescent lighting in small nano-tanks. The fluorescent lamps run very warm temperature wise and the heat will degrade the LEDs quickly

In a 12 gallon tank to support all types of corals, you would want to use:
1 x 12K White/445nm Blue Panorama Pro Module
1 x 445nm Royal Blue Panorama Pro Module

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team

Thank you,

What is the difference between the Panorama and stunner lights?

The Panorama Pro LED strips are much more powerful - they use 1.7 watt LEDs versus the Stunner LED strips which use 0.25 watt LEDs.

Wonderful. Thanks

Your quite welcome!

Okay, I placed my order through Marine Depot. Now when I receive these lights, can I place them in the plastic enclosure? And do I need to turn on the fan?

Dear Hobbyist,

Thank you so much for purchasing our LED products. Yes, you will definitely want to install them under the plastic hood/shield and keep the fans. The Panorama Pro Modules are not designed to be exposed to water or salt over lengths of time (they will corrode) and they do get warm, so they will require the use of your existing fans.

Please let us know if you have any further questions and thanks again for your purchase.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team
