I have a 24G Aqua Pod and I am researching LED to upgrade the lighting. After searching the forums it seems that I would need 2 Panorama Pro modules, 2 dimmers, and 2 transformers for a dawn/dusk cycle. I am wondering though what combination of strips you would recommend. I know a 12k white/445 blue strip but should it be paired with an all blue strip, or a blue/magenta strip, or should I do one of each strip (or would that be too much light?) I plan on stocking a variety of corals and even hopefully a clam. Also I've read that you don't suggest using a reflector if the tank is less that 24" tall, is this correct? My Aqua Pod is around 20" tall. Thank you for your help.
Dear Mark Stetson,
Thank you so much for contacting Ecoxotic and showing interest in our LED products. It seems like you have done your research and you've already answered most of your questions!
- For the Aquapod 24 Gallon, you only need 2 modules. We recommend:
1 x 12K White/445nm Blue
1 x 445nm Blue or 445nm Blue/Magenta
For dawn/dusk effects, you would need one power supply for each unit and the inline dimmers are quite popular. You are correct, there is no need for reflectors in this size aquarium. Using three modules is really not required, two of them in a 24 gallon will work just fine.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
