Lights for 14g biocube

Originally from ticket #435.

hi. I want to replace my stock pc lights in my 14g biocube. Can u please rec a set up that will not limit me in the the types of corals I can stock successfully. I m in the process of cycling my tank now so nothing stocked yet. I would like to eventually stock sps if I am a successful nano reefer
Thanks for your input
Matt

Dear Matt,

Thank you for contacting Ecoxotic and showing interest in our LED products. If you want no limit of what corals you can keep and what to keep clams - we would recommend using two of our Panorama Pro Modules - 1x12K/445nm Combo and 1x445nm Blue LED strip.

We normally recommend this combination for most Biocube 28 gallon aquariums, however many higher end nano-reef hobbyists use them in their Biocube 14 as well.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team

If I got the above system can I add any stunner strips without getting another transformer and if so what would u rec. I have heard the magenta looks pretty cool. Or how would the 445/magenta with 12k/445 combo work? Thoughts. Also do panoramic pro modules come with reflectors and how do they influence spread and intensity of light
Thanks
Matt

Dear Matt,

Yes, you can quite easily add a couple Stunner strips to the above recommended combination. If you were adding a Stunner strip, we would recommend adding one 445nm Blue/Magenta strip. A straight Magenta color strip would likely provide too much purple light, so the mix would work well.

In such a shallow tank such as this, you do not need to use reflectors.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team
