Panorama Pro Led Modules - placed inside my 250w SE MH reflector

Originally from ticket #683.

I have 3 x 250w MH lights in mini lumenarc reflectors over my 125g 72"L x 18" x 24" deep tank. The reflectors are mounted to the inside of my canopy. I don't have any room in front or behind my reflectors to squeeze in your Panorama Pro LED Modules (for actinic supplementation). I am figuring that I would need 6 actinic modules (3 x 1 front + 3 x 1 back) for the 72" span, is this correct?

If I figure out a way to make a small metal bracket inside of my lumenarc reflectors do you see a problem with excessive heat buildup in the modules (shortening LED life) caused by being directly in my reflectors? I do run thermostatically controlled fans inside my canopy.

Dear Js,

Thank you so much for contacting Ecoxotic and showing interest in our LED products.

Your math is correct - for actinic supplementation on a tank of this size, you would want to use a total of six Panorama Pro LED modules. The Panorama Pro LED Modules actually have a thermal switch built into them, so if they get too warm and begin to reach a temperature where degradation will occur, the modules will actually blink on/off. If your running fans in your canopy, they should work just fine.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
