Hello, I currently have two Panorama strips for daylight and one newer stunner strip for actinics. I hear the new Panorama strips need the new 60w power supply and are linkable. This is great but I hear the old strips are not linkable. I would hate to have 3 or 4 plugs just for my lights. I understand not being able to like the old Panorama strips using the old 12w power supplies but can I buy a new Panorama Pro, 60w power supply, splitter, and hook up my old Panorama's to one supply? From what I know about LED's, which is more than most, this should be possible. The old and new lights have the same quick disconnect. Please let me know. If this is not possible, I might just buy a completely different setup as I don't want all the separate plugs taking up space on my reefkeeper. Thanks.

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for contacting Ecoxotic and purchasing our Panorama LED strips. As it turns out, the new Panorama Pro Modules use a different technology for power versus the old models - and they are not compatible with each other in any way. The old model modules used 28VDC constant current, the new models are 24VDC constant voltage, therefore the two are not interchangeable.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team

Any chance of making a 28v 60w transformer?

Thank you.
Kevin Smock

Dear Kevin,

This type of transformer is readily available on the internet for hobbyists, unfortunately there is no margin for us to resell them. Simply do a web search for Meanwell ELN-60-24D, its a dimmable constant current driver which will work for the Panorama Pro modules and Panorama modules (works for both.)

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team

Thank you for your help. One last clarification. By both do you mean both on the same supply at the same time? Or I still have to keep the Pro modules separate because of the different voltage? And by this being a 24v supply, I would assume that the 28v Panorama's will be running at a 24v level. To my knowledge this shouldn't hurt the units, just reduce their output.

Thanks.

Dear Kevin,

If you use the Meanwell ELN60-24D, it will work on both/either style Panorama Module (either the standard or the Pro.) We understand the entire voltage/constant current can be confusing, just know it will work on both models just fine.

Sincerely,
The Ecoxotic Team

Thank you. Good products and good support. Hard to find these days.

Thanks!!!

Your quite welcome!
