Panorama or stunner strips?

Originally from ticket #559.

My tank is 48x18x27. I would like to convert my PCs to LEDs. There are soft and sps corals in the tank. My questions is? What would be better Panorama or stunner strips, how many strips would i need, and what colors would you recommend? I thought that everything in LEDs was blue and white. Why are you now adding Red into the fixtures? Thanks for the help!!!!

Dear Hobbyist,

Thank you so much for contacting Ecoxotic and showing interest in our LED products.

There is not a "better" way to go - its more a personal preference.

Using 48" Stunner LED strips on a tank of this size will work just fine for LPS corals, and they are simply to use. We would recommend three strips - 2x12K White/445nm Blue and 1x445nm Blue strip. For three strips you would need:
2 x 12K White/445nm Blue Stunner Strips
1 x 445nm Blue Stunner Strip
1 x 2-way splitter
2 x 60w Transformers

The Panorama Pro Modules will give you more "punch" and allow you to grow SPS corals, however if you only have LPS, the Stunners will work great.

Hobbyists add red and green to provide more a visual "full spectrum" appearance, the red and green LEDs do not have any effects on coral, its simply more of a visual look.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
